The South Dakota Technology Business Center is a collaborative effort with Forward Sioux Falls, Sioux Falls Chamber, Sioux Falls Development Foundation and the State of South Dakota. The Center is the first step in an on-going effort to diversify and grow the regional economy by assisting in the creation and expansion of technology-based businesses in the Sioux Falls area. Planning is now underway for the development of a comprehensive Knowledge Community. The Community would include the South Dakota Technology Business Center and the adjacent educational campus, bringing together education, research and business development.
The Hueners Technology Park was built by the Lake Area Improvement Corporation to provide office space for technology-based businesses and utilize the highly educated technological workforce from Dakota State University. The alliance between these two entities has developed an avenue to create high-paying jobs on a local level that will keep South Dakota students working in South Dakota.
The Black Hills Business Development Center is owned and operated by the Rapid City Economic Development Foundation. The Center is committed to offering quality, affordable space to attract start-ups and businesses with growth potential. Within the Center, a full range of business services is provided free or at a low cost through sharing.
