Business Development Specialist Stationed in Rapid City

PIERRE, S.D. - A regional economic development representative who will assist businesses in western South Dakota has joined the staff at the Governor’s Office of Economic Development.
Business Development Representative Shelly Larson has substantial sales experience, having spent the last 11 years in pharmaceutical sales for Pfizer. As a previous business owner, she has first-hand experience in starting a business and helping it succeed.
Larson will work to create quality jobs in the western region of South Dakota, said Kim Olson, director of the Governor’s Office of Economic Development.
“Shelly brings a nice mix of skills to this job,” Olson said. “Her past sales experience and business ownership will prove invaluable in her efforts to cultivate business development opportunities.”
Larson will be based in Rapid City. As the regional representative for businesses in the western part of the state, her industry focus will be on research and development efforts at the Sanford Underground Lab in Lead.
She and her husband live in Hill City with their three children.
