Pierre, S.D. – Retail fuel station operators interested in South Dakota’s new Ethanol Blender Pump Incentive grants have four opportunities to learn more.
Informational meetings on the grant program are scheduled over the next two weeks in Aberdeen, Pierre, Rapid City, and Sioux Falls.
Those attending the meetings will learn about the grant application process, benefits of installing blender pumps, and the impact of ethanol on South Dakota.
Eligible retail fuel stations may qualify for up to $10,000 per pump to help defray the costs of installing blender fuel pumps as part of the South Dakota Ethanol Blender Pump Incentive Grant Program
The funds may only be used for fuel dispensers and the associated hardware. Storage tanks, either above or below ground, and other infrastructure items are not eligible.
The program is funded with money allocated to the State of South Dakota through the federal American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (Stimulus). The state program is a result of House Bill 1192, which was passed by the 2010 Legislature and signed by Gov. Mike Rounds.
A blender pump is a filling station fuel-dispenser that allows consumers to select desired blends of gasoline and ethanol.
The informational meetings are sponsored by the State of South Dakota, South Dakota Petroleum Marketers Association, South Dakota Corn Growers Association, South Dakota Farmers Union, South Dakota Association of Cooperatives, South Dakota Ethanol Producer Association, the American Coalition for Ethanol, Growth Energy, and POET.
