Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2011PIERRE, S.D. – Governor Dennis Daugaard will help Black Hills IP, a legal support services company, celebrate its newly established Rapid City office and training facility during a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Monday, Aug. 22, 2011. The event will begin at 1:30, MDT, at 2630 Jackson Blvd, Suite 202 and will include comments from Gov. Daugaard and community officials. Black Hills IP has taken over ownership and management of Schwegman Lundberg and Woessner (SLW) Law Firm’s Rapid City support center that was first established in August of 2010. Following the transition, SLW, a major US Patent Law Firm, moved its docketing and paralegal support services from India to Black Hills IP. Other law firms and in-house legal departments have similarly transferred services to Black Hills IP. Black Hills IP retained all of SLW’s Rapid City employees and has already hired an addition ten employees. Black Hills IP plans to create another 48 jobs within the next two years.
