The company is adding 30,000 square feet to its current Mitchell facility and also adding 30 new employee positions. Innovative Systems provides integrated hardware and software solutions for the independent telecommunications industry. The expansion will help Innovative Systems accommodate its growing client list. Specifically, theis expansion will provide Innovative Systems with office space for an the increased staff of software developers and support specialists. In 1998, Roger Musick, CEO and founder of Innovative Systems, started the family-owned company in Mitchell, along with his son, Kyle, and son-in-law Ryan Tupper. Gov. Dennis Daugaard says Innovative Systems is a great South Dakota success story. “Innovative Systems started out with 10 employees. In and in less than 15 years, the company has impressively grown the company to a 160 employees operation,” the Governor said Gov. Daugaard. “Innovative Systems is proof that the entrepreneurial spirit in Mitchell is alive and well in Mitchell.” As part of the expansion plan, the Governor’s Office of Economic Development is providing workforce development assistance to help train new and existing employees. Innovation Systems expects to break ground for its expansion project this summer and has already begun hiring additional staff. The company will hire support specialists and software developers incrementally, with a goal of hiring at least 30 new employees in the next three years.
