The amount of the refund on the sales, use, and contractors’ excise tax is determined by the total project costs. Costs incurred prior to December 31, 2012, are eligible for refunds. An application must be approved within 180 days of the start of construction. * Projects related to wind energy (wind farms, transmission lines, and the manufacturing of wind energy components) are eligible for the 55% refund on costs in excess of $500 million.
